Operational Expenses – Funds used to aid in a recognized student organization’s basic operating expenses.

Need a little extra support to keep your student organization running smoothly? UPAC offers an annual $50 operational funding to all recognized groups.

Who’s eligible?

  • Any recognized student organization at Penn State.
  • New organizations recognized in the Spring semester are also eligible.

When to apply:

  • Fall semester only: Submit your request by the last day of classes.

Operational Funds can be used for:

  • Covering essential operating expenses like:
    • Advertising (recruitment, events, newsletters)
    • Office supplies (pens, paper, folders)
    • Postage (mailings)
    • Copying (newsletters, minutes, election materials)

Operational Funds cannot be used for:

  • Event expenses
  • Travel expenses
  • Equipment purchases
  • Food or beverages
